90% of brain development happens before the age of 5.

This year, we will do two things and we will need your help to be successful:

  1. We are asking a judge to determine the validity of the initiative filed to dismantle the Healthy Children’s Fund. Read about the serious legal issues here.

  2. We are also gearing up to win once more for vulnerable and at-risk kids and their families. Whatcom County’s future depends on having healthy kids.

The Healthy Children's Fund supports families in every corner of Whatcom County with targeted programs for the most vulnerable, and expansion of high-quality, affordable child care for all parents.

We welcome your help!

Whether it’s volunteering your time to talk with voters door-to-door, or a financial gift to make this campaign possible - we welcome your help. Join us!

Investing in early childhood means funding proven programs and innovative strategies for children from birth to age 5 that:

  • strengthen families in their role as their child's first teacher,

  • Improve the quality of early learning environments like preschool and child care, and expand access to those programs,

  • and promote prevention and early identification of health problems that can impact learning later on.
